CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM
Climate control regulates the compartment environmental conditions in your car depending on the outside temperature and the humidity of the air being drawn into the car
The Climate control ensures fast demisting, increasing driving visibility and safety. The pollen filters fitted to the car improves it improves the air quality, by retaining pollutant particles entering the car .

COMPRESSOR
The compressor is the heart of the climate control system.
THE RIGHT TEMPERATURE WITHIN CLIMATE CONTROL
It is a precision component
It compresses cooling gas, increasing temperature and pressure.
Precision is its main feature and its ensures your car’s safety, comfort and energy savings.
It contains moving parts lubricated with a special oil, with the characteristics to a refrigeration circuit. If the oil looks cloudy, wash out the circuit thoroughly as soon as possible
IT GIVES YOU
- Heat and acoustic comfort
- Energy savings
- Reduced energy and fuel consumption
CONDENSER
Mopar ® has designed your car parts so that you can travel in comfortable environment
A WARM HEART BEATS INSIDE YOUR AIR CONDITIONER
Best capability to liquefy the cooling gas
The condenser is a heat exchanger which cools and liquefies the coolant gas coming from the compressor.
The condenser is located at the front of the vehicle, in front of or next to the radiator.
Under normal usage conditions, the condenser does not need to be replaced throughout the vehicle’s lifetime. Given its position, however, it can be easily damaged in the case of a front impact.
The use of sub cooling modules are now used more often , which as well as offering a condensing function, also act as a drier
IT GIVES YOU
- High resistance over time
DRIER FILTER
Protection against humidity
DRIER, SAFER
Large capacity for filtering solid particles
Maximum dehumidification effectiveness
There are two kinds of filters, depending on whether the system is the dry or wet kind: respectively, the drier filter and the accumulator. The first serves to filter solid particles, preventing the expansion valve from clogging, and dries the cooling gas. The second has to make sure that only coolant in gaseous form reaches the compressor. When you change the compressor always remember to replace the drier filter too.
IT GIVES YOU
- Longer compressor life
EXPANSION VALVE
Small but fundamental to cooling
FROM HERE WE MOVE TO REACH OUR OBJECTIVES
High capacity to regulate the coolant flow and temperature
If you let a gas closed under pressure leak out, it undergoes a sharp drop in pressure and when it expands, it causes cooling. An example? Think of a normal spray can: if you let out all its contents, in a few seconds it gets colder and colder until it freezes. In an air conditioning system, this is pretty much what the expansion valve does: it regulates the coolant flow and temperature.
IT GIVES YOU
- Optimum cooling system operation
EVAPORATOR
The condenser’s different twin
THE ART OF HEAT EXCHANGE ISN’T FOR EVERYBODY
High capacity to transform coolant from liquid to gas
Identical to the condenser in design, the evaporator has the opposite function. Inside it, the coolant goes from liquid to gas, absorbing the heat from the environment. The air that goes through its flaps is cooled, moves through the passenger compartment filter, and gets to you via the air ducts.
IT GIVES YOU
- High effectiveness in cooling your car’s air
DID YOU KNOW THAT…?
There’s quite a difference between air conditioner and climate control
The choice is yours!
The difference between air conditioner and climate control is that the first can only cool, while the second both heats and cools.
Air conditioning is a device which is only capable of cooling, while climate control can both cool and heat the air.
There are different types available, depending on the operating mode:
Manual: all adjustments are the responsibility of the user.
Semi-automatic: where the automatic adjustment is restricted to the temperature and ventilation speed.
Automatic: where the flow, temperature and ventilation speed are all managed by a control unit
Depending on the number of zones which can be individually adjusted, there is a single zone, dual zone, triple zone and four zone climate control systems available.
You can now control the climate in your car
Climate the way you want it
The thermal comfort that people feel is not just a question of thermometer readings but varies according to different agents and situations. An example? The heat you feel in the sun at zero degrees in the mountains or the coolness of fanned air in a very hot room. In the most sophisticated climate control systems, complicated algorithms nowadays let you anticipate and compensate climate variations inside and outside the passenger compartment.
Coolant leaks have a short life
Stop them!
One of the most common causes of functional anomalies in climate control systems is inefficient cooling circuit flow, which very slightly reduces the quantity of coolant gas, leading to a gradual reduction in performance through to a total breakdown.
This is why you need to check for all leaks possible in such cases.
How? With the various leak detectors available: contrast solutions, electronic detectors, foams that react with cooling gas.
Climate control is all for all the year not just for summer
A little movement a day keeps the mechanic away
To keep your climate control efficient at all times, you need to work it out often.
Use it in winter to demist your windows, or at the end of a long trip, and especially in wet, rainy weather, aerate the air ducts for several minutes before stopping. This way you limit formation of moulds and bacteria caused by the humidity, which is responsible for foul odours and allergic reactions. Lastly, it is a good rule to refill the cooling gas every two years.
Not very conditioned air
If your air conditioning is not cool, you may need to check for leaks and refill the cooling gas. We advise you refill the gas every two years.
Windows mist up
If your car windows often mist up with climate control on, this is due to the compartment filter being too full or clogged by prolonged use. Contact a local Approved Fiat Dealer to replace.
