BODY
The body doesn’t just define your car’s design but it’s also, and most importantly, the combination of components that your safety depends on. Guaranteeing maximum protection for you, those in the car with you and anyone you encounter on the road.
The body elements have been designed, produced and tested to offer you the top performance over time and to prevent rust from forming. To do this, the metal sheets have been preventively galvanised on both sides and painted using a special procedure.
In the development stage, many experimental tests are performed, and the most demanding test conditions have been simulated.
TRAVELLING SAFELY AND STYLISHLY
BONNET
The shield that protects your car’s heart
TRAVELLING SAFELY AND STYLISHLY
Top mechanical performance
Capability of reducing the car’s weight
Lower CO2 emissions
Mostly produced in steel, the bonnet covers the engine compartment and protects it from direct weather conditions. It was designed with pedestrian safety in mind when involved in low speed impacts.
Also, while still in the production stage, programmed collapse and retention points are provided in the bonnet so in the event of a front collision, it minimises the risk to those on board.
IT GIVES YOU
- Notable fuel efficiency
- Maximum engine protection
- Passenger safety in case of front collision
- Distinctive design
- Ergonomic comfort when opening
BUMPERS
An irreplaceable ally in case of low collisions
ON THE FRONT LINE TO PROTECT YOU
Capable of limiting damage from a collision
Reduction of car weight
Considerable resistance to small collisions
Due to their strength and stability, bumpers shield the parts that would otherwise be damaged in the event of light collisions. There are two types of collisions: the pedestrian collision, where the impact has to be correctly distributed over the entire bumper surface to soften its impact. The insurance collision, is designed to limit damage to other car parts, like the sides or headlights.
This body component is usually “primed”, or treated with a special grey or black coat called “primer” that allows for the correct absorption of the coloured paint and for perfect colour uniformity in both the plastic and metal parts.
IT GIVES YOU
- Aerodynamic efficiency
- Optimisation of consumptions
FENDERS
The perfect synthesis of design and performance
The perfect synthesis of design and performance
Recyclable materials
Designed to reduce Anti-dent and deformation
Strong resistance to damage from small objects
Together with the bonnet, the fenders define the front design part of your car.
But most important, they have fundamental role in terms of protection from small objects hitting the car when it is rolling along.
Their shape has been studied to achieve significant aerodynamic performance and high anti-dent and deformation. During testing, fenders are subjected to harsh trials relative to international regulations concerning hitting pedestrians, involving collapsing on impact, within the limits of predetermined speeds.
THEY GIVE YOU
- High mechanical performance
- Absolute aerodynamics
- Reduction in passenger compartment noise
FRONT AND REAR SACRIFICIAL CROSSMEMBERS
Real reference points for protecting your car’s body
THERE ARE THOSE WHO TAKE RISKS TO BENEFIT EVERYBODY
High level of programmed deformation
Strong capability to absorb kinetic energy
The sacrificial crossmembers protect both the front and rear parts of your car, limiting the damage caused by collisions under 15 Km/h, which is statistically the typical speed for an urban rear-end collision. They act as “protection” with respect to the other body parts, which are much more costly to repair or replace.
They are part of those components that work together to increase a car’s passive safety, because their role is to absorb the kinetic energy of your car and of those on board during an impact, thus reducing the consequences of an accident.
THEY GIVE YOU
- The ability to be easily replaced
- Minimal repair or replacement costs
CRASH BOX
The safety valve in case of a powerful impact
THERE IS ENERGY THAT NEEDS TO BE CONTAINED
Controlled deformation
The Crash Box has the difficult task of absorbing energy in case of a collision and is connected to your car’s front and rear struts.
Energy absorption is very important for the car to work properly, because it prevents deformation of unfastened or sensitive components, like the engine cooling system.
IT GIVES YOU
- Greater capacity to absorb energy
BUFFERS OR COLLISION ABSORBERS
Essential when you are parking
EVEN PREVENTING A LITTLE DAMAGE IS FUNDAMENTAL
High tolerance for light collisions
Buffers play a significant role. They serve to diminish damage to the bumpers in impacts at very low speeds, when, for example you are parking and you bump into another car.
THEY GIVE YOU
- Powerful damage reduction in case of impact
SIDE DOORS
Very complicated systems where safety and style cohabit
PROTECTION ALSO RUNS THROUGH ELEGANCE
An accurate choice of different but complementary materials
Optimised ergonomic solutions
The side doors are made to guarantee maximum continuity with your car’s design. Their role goes well beyond simple aesthetic value: they protect those on board from side or frontal collisions. Among your car’s most used components, the doors are special systems, made from different materials. A structural skeleton in steel or aluminium, connected to the car by hinges and covered with all accessories needed to guarantee waterproofing, and to operate electrical parts like window raisers, music diffusion and courtesy lights. In addition, they are inspired to give maximum visual and tactile ergonomic comfort and pleasant aesthetics.
THEY GIVE YOU
- Maximum protection for those on board
- Absolute coherence with your car’s distinctive line
DID YOU KNOW THAT…?
Side door resistance is extraordinary
Your car has a superpower!
The structure or skeleton of your car’s side doors has very high mechanical resistance capability in case of powerful collision. In order to damage it, you need to exert a high level of impact.
Even small accidents leave a mark
Sometimes the damage is invisible
In the event of a low speed accident, for example a light rear-end collision, you could think you haven’t damaged your car very much. However, in reality even if invisible from the outside, the important cross members may have worked and are no longer effective. Keeping them in perfect condition means having a safer car. In fact, they are among the components that play a key role in the car’s passive safety and are the first to be implemented when an impact occurs.
The life of a bumper is longer than you think
Elasticity means being able to last a long time
The original bumpers that we distribute are designed to maintain their aesthetic and operational characteristics for a long time. Over time they can limit deformations due to the top quality materials they have been manufactured from. The right thickness, the homogeneity and compactness in the materials guarantee that elasticity as an objective is constantly maintained. For example, they should not change due to powerful temperature changes but at the same time, they have to guarantee the expected deformability in case of impact.
A body also needs attention
Outer wellbeing corresponds to inner health
You need to keep an eye on the body components and make sure they get correct servicing over the course of time. There are small tricks to improve their performance. An example? Always keep the bonnet locking mechanism clean and efficient: a guarantee for a safe trip and unexpected visit to a dealer. Try not to slam the doors shut as this is added stress for the body and hinges. Go over the door perimeter sealing gaskets with a damp cloth every so often so you prevent the abrasive effect of dust. If you find yourself in a situation where you need to push your car by hand, avoid pushing on an open door.
